Sad Day for my Laptop....

A while back, I got some sore of virus thing on my computer, "maleware" is what they called it, and spent 4 1/2 hours on the phone with Dell trying to fix it. It worked, until Sunday morning when I came down to finish planning my lesson for Primary, and nothing would work....I called Dell again, and after trying all sorts of things, the only solution was to "re-install my operating system".....which meant I LOST EVERYTHING...luckily, I had a brand new flash drive so I could transfer all 1600 of my pictures, but everything else was a gonner! Lesson learned: Dont save things onto your hard-drive, unless you have a back up plan! And, always keep an empty flash drive at arms reach!

My trip to Wonderland!

One night, I think due to some serious boredom, I decided to have an Alice in Wonderland themed party....It finally was warm outside, and seemed like a good reason to celebrate. So I had some friends over to have lunch, play a few games and just visit. (Plus it gave me a reason to decorate something...I was quite impressed how it came together, until about halfway through, the stupid wing picked up and destroyed all my hard work....I should have known better than to have a party outside at my house...its like a constant tornado here, and I think all my guests will verify!) Thanks Sarah and Whit for all your help! and my BFF Laurie for making the fantastic chair covers....(The extra credit, as "D" called it!)

Kite Flying Fun

Because Mike wasn't home for Easter, he wanted to bring the girls a little "after Easter surprise..." But it couldn't just be any kite, they had to be the perfect kite. He chose the fish pattern, orange for Chase (her favorite color) and pink and blue for Skylar (her favorite color...) It was a bit windy, but when isnt it windy at my house?! We had a fun morning out in the field flying the kites...It was a perfect surprise!

Happy 29th to me....

On April 8th, I turned 29...still somewhat young but getting old! Mike has been trying really hard to think of fun and creative things for us to do on the holidys, so for this birthday, he had heard me talk so much about my trip to Color Me Mine with Skylar, and all of the fantastic things that I could make there, he surprised me by lining up a babysitter, and taking me there to paint...He said I always say he never wants to do things with me that I like, so we were gonna go there and paint together....He made me the little cupcake dish, and I made the big platter...I am a sucker for cupcakes! After painting, we went out to dinner, then made a few shopping stops. I loved spending the day with just him! He is an amazing husband and I am so lucky to have him!

Super Student Surprise...

Skylar has done so fantastic in school this year! She has recieved 100% on all of her spelling tests this year! For her reward for her February and March tests, I surprised her by taking her to a store called "Color Me Mine"...a great little place where you can your own ceramics...We went to an "Alice in Wonderland" tea party, where she got to have cookies and tea (apple juice) paint her own tea set, and read the Alice story....We had so much fun. It was fun to spend the day with just her...

Dying eggs

I love Easter! At my families house, it is almost as big as Christmas! Saturday night, me and my girls crashed Tiff's egg dying party...Mike was outta town working, so I was having a hard time getting into the swing of things this year. It's not fun spending holidays alone...but once we got there and got going, the excitement came back. Chase was a trooper. She died eggs until 11 p.m.! She loves being creative! Dying eggs was almost something I decided wasn't worth doing this year, but I'm so glad we did...It's a good thing I have my little one's or I would probably be seriously depressed...

Easter's first stop...

The Easter bunny found his way to the Thompson house again this year...He hid three dozen small eggs and then three monster eggs for each kid...When they came down and seen nothing but an empty carton in their baskets, they were pretty disappointed, but luckily, there was a note explaining that they had to find the big eggs to find their presents...Chase thought that the giant eggs were far better than anything that was in them!

Stop 2....

Second, we went to Mike's grandpa Don's for a hunt and lunch....at this hunt the eggs are filled with money and there is no limits as to where the eggs will be hid. (And most of the time, we find eggs that were hidden the year before!) My girls love this hunt because there are a few more kids their age, and they love, love, love to play (I say torture) Cydni. Good thing she's such a good sport!

Stop 3...

Stop 3....

The third stop for the day was a my dad's house...this party nearly didn't happen due to conflicting schedules with all the family members, but my sister Kim and I pulled it together Saturday night...Here, we had a hunt, where Skylar found the golden egg, and a bonus egg, dinner, and the annual egg decorating contest...I have won most of them, and thought for sure my submission would win this year too, but I got ROBBED...the judge said I won too many times and so he picked someones else...such a disappointment! But Skylar won in the kids devision, so I guess technically team Thompson still brought home the trophy....

Mother Nature's Cruel April Fool's Joke

This is what I saw when I looked out my bedroom window this morning...Although it was pretty enough to take a picture of, and it reminded me of one of the reasons that I love living here, I couldn't help but picture Mother Nature standing in a field of flowers somewhere saying "April Fools! You idiots actually thought it was Spring!"
