Night with the cousins....and a couple neighbors

Thursday afternoon the Conley Crew came to hang out for a few hours while most of the adults went to the temple...The kids swam for the majority of the time, and then came in and we made homemade pizzas and breadsticks. It was a super fun activity to do with nine kids...kept them all entertained and out of trouble. When we wrapped up dinner, they headed back out to the tramp with the sprinkler under it and played for quite a bit longer. No fights to speak of, no one in the ditch ( a big concern for the parents), and a full belly to end the night... I would call that a major success.

Father's Day!

These were the cupcakes that I made my hubby for Father's day...Turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself! And he was pretty impressed as well. They went perfectly with the new "cast iron LODGE pre-seasoned skillet" (specific instructions I recieved by him) and the Grill pan skillet that we got him.

The Best Part of Summer....

For many, Summer is swimming, camping, the end of school, picnics....Yes, I enjoy all of these things to, but the thing about Summer that I love the most is the weekend after memorial day when all of the slush places open....There is nothing like a Tiger's Blood Slush on a hot day...There are few things in this life that I love more than these...

Trip to the Salon...

For Christmas a friend of mine gave me a gift certificate to a nail salon...I came across it the other day, and realized it expired in a few days. Now I am not a fake nail kinda girl, I bite my nails more when they have polish on them, so all natural is the way for me...But I didnt want the certificate to go to waste, so I took my girls and let them get their nails filed and painted. Chase chose HOT pink and Skylar chose purple. Both got sparkles and little daisies...Very cute. Skylar had hers all dinged up by the time we got home, but Chase's look fantastic...It was a fun free little treat for them!

My new decor....

I have this need to continually add things to my home. One of Mike's friends came in for the first time and said "I heard it looked like the Quilted Bear in here, and it sure does!" A nice compliment, I suppose....But I am pretty pleased with how this project turned out! The scroll's I bought a Hobby Lobby, reg. 12.99, but on sale for $6.50 each! The wooden circles were $1.03 each (I bought 4), paint was stuff I found in the craft shed, the vinyl was $10, and the eye hooks were $.08 each....So total cost was $27.28 Not to Shabby!

Goodbye Training Wheels!

Skylar no longer needs training wheels! Because I got a great deal on a fantastic birthday present (which I definately post pics of later!) it was necessary that she learn to ride a bike. We have put it off because we really dont have a side walk for her to ride, and her riding in the road makes me too nervous...But we took the plunge and she is officially a bike rider! Every morning she asks "Mom, can we practice some biking today?!" She rides the bike, and I follow behind in the ranger to warn her of any on-coming cars. She's hit the deck a few times, and recieved a few wounds, but overall, she loves it!

Daddy's Bike

Today Mike took the Harley outta the garage, dusted her off, and him and Skylar went for a ride. He is kind of a fair weather Harley rider...He only rides when it is warm enough that when he smiles, his teeth don't freeze. Skylar loves to go with him, although hates how heavy her helmet is. I tease her that she looks like a "Spaceball" every time she wears it...If you have seen the movie, you know what I am talking about!....

Bowling!

While Mike was in Colorado last week, Skylar decided that she wanted to go bowling...I told her to wait til her dad got home and see if he would take her :) Well, he fell for my plan, so the girls had a "Date Night with Dad" out at the bowling Alley. I think they thought it would be alot funner, because they seemed a little disappointed with the whole thing...and you can tell from the score sheet, I dont think I have any professional bowlers in my family...
