Cupcake Tea...

Today Skylar has a "Cupcake" themed Tea Party to celebrate the ending of Kindergarden, and I have to say it was SO cute! Ten Squealing girls running amuck in my house, and I loved every minute of it! We started with a lite lunch, then each girl got to decorate their own cupcakes...hilarious! Some of them, the frosting was piled three inches thick! I just lucked out and had an apron for all of them to wear...the perfect touch for the little baker's! After decorating, they busted open a cupcake shaped pinata filled with cupcake lipgloss, cupcake soap, and lots of junk! I loved listening to them all interact. One little girl, when she walked into Skylars room (who had never been to our house before) said (very dramatically!!) "Oh my goodness! Is this all yours?!" So cute!
When it was all said and done, I think all the kids had a super time, and I was tickled because they had so much fun, and that almost all her friends made it to play!

Pre-School Graduation!

Well, we did it...Chase, as well as I, made it through her first official year of pre-school! When I signed her up for a.m. pre-school, I didn't know how we would do, for she is not a morning person! But we did it. She was a total grump at Graduation...partly because we spent the whole day at the Children's Museum and Build-a-Bear, so she was exhausted, and partly because she just has a grumpy disposition...Another year at Wee Wonder's for the books, and one more year ahead of us!

Performance Night at the Peak

Tonight was Performance night at the Peak...Skylar was eager to show friends and family all the things that she has learned this year. She is pretty amazing! Although I have sat through every practice she has had this year, I never get tired of watching her little five year old body flip likes she's been doing it for years... She actually did her performance on bars, beam, and floor for us too. She was supposed to do it next Tuesday, but due to conflicting schedules, she did it tonight while all the family was there. So she brought home two trophies, and had a spot picked out for them before we even made it home.... Here is a little clip of her back handsprings...Not to shabby if I do say so myself!

Skylar's Award!

Today we attended an awards assembly at McKinley elementary, where Skylar recieved the Cougar Scholar Award...I am so proud of her and all her hard work this year. She got 100% on every reading and spelling test!

What We've Been Up to the Last Few Weeks....

On May 13th, Skylar officially entered the awkward years. She lost her first tooth at school. Grandpa Jay, (so helpful) told her that the Tooth Fairy only brings $5 bills, and not to settle for anything less...Well, unfortunately the Tooth Fairy didn't have any $5 bills, so Skylar had to settle for five dollars in quarters...(which I think Grandpa Jay should have to reimburse!)
At pre-school that same day, we had a field day at the park. For two hours, the kids played several fun games like sac races, tag, obsticle course, and a few others...Skylar and Chase had a blast! They were also exhausted by the time it was over, which was extra fun for me...

Friday May 14, we drove to Wolf Creek, up Ogden Canyon and stayed the night with Melodie and Haven, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Rick...All Mel's boys were at a father/son outing, so we decided to have a little girls night out. It was fun. Due to snow and rain, we couldn't swim outside, so to keep the girls entertained, we filled the tub and let them swim in it...To them it was just as fabulous!


On May 18th, Miss Marci had a talent show for the kids...So funny. Chase's talent was gymnastics...Here's a little clip! Brace yourselves, this is pretty good...


At the end, all the kids who participated got a certificate and a treat...


Later that night was the Dance Review for Dance Factory...My little Chase-ters first performance! I was so proud.

I made Chase and Jorja a tutu, wand, and fairy wings, put them on a teddy bear, and gave it to them as a little good luck present...I must say they turned out super cute, and they seemed to like them!

And lastly, On Wednesday May 19, we headed to the trout farm for a field trip. It was so fun, and the grounds were beautiful. the kids got to fish all by themselves, and then the employees did all the cleaning...It was so fun! Mike got to go on this one, and I think he had as much fun as the kids!

A Rough, Rough weekend!

Last weekend proved to be one of the roughest weekends I think I have had since I have been married....Because I had myself spred so thin, I didn't feel like I could take care of my children and all of the things I had to do, so I called in my cousin Melodie for back up...who generously said "sure! no problem..." We headed to Pocatello Thursday night at 9:00 p.m. (...seriously, who does that!) On the way home, Strep Throat set in, and I sort of wanted to die...Friday and Saturday I had to man not one, but two craft fairs, while being sicker than I have been for a LONG time....and Skylar was calling for two days, crying hysterically cause she was so homesick and just wanted to come home...After a total come-apart to my husband (who was in Cloroado), my father in law felt sorry for me, so Saturday night, he went up and got my girls, and kept them over night (something about being in a familiar home made the home sickness go away)...what an amazing man! The strep throat didnt subside until Monday (aided by the shot in the butt that was not so pleasant)...five full days of that crap, and I was never so happy to see it go!

To Melodie's credit, she took them to several fun things in just the few short days they were there...They went to a birthday party, a movie, and to kids club at Home Depot and made me these cutest little plant holders for Mother's Day all by themselves ;) (which I loved, and am praying I don't kill) They even got an orange Home Depot apron like they wear at the store...I appreciate you more than you know Mel...Thanks so much for trying to help me out!

Chase's pre-school field trip....

For one of Chases class activities, they went on a field trip to Call's Nursery just here in town. It was cold and rainy, but we packed our umberella and headed out to learn about flowers and planting seeds...Each child got to pland a corn seed and a flower seed, that we took back to the classroom and are going to try our luck at getting them to grow..
