Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween this year...Although Mike missed it yet again, we did some really fun things...About a month ago I came across this fun little activity down at Gardner Village called "Breakfast with a Witch" and knew instantly that I had to take my girls....We invited some cute little friends to spend the day with us and I think it is fair to say we all had a blast! But first...Arent these the cutest little Flappers that you have ever seen?!.....

All the girls (Skylar, Chase, Libby and Rainy) wore their cute little costumes for the big event, and they were so excited!

The breakfast was a big buffet where "The Witch Royalty" passed from Table to Table to sign autographs and take pictures...It was seriously the cutest thing ever...Those ladies gave "witch Costume" a whole new meaning! They sang Halloween songs, did a parade around the room to show off for all the parents, it was so cute...a total 10! Now I guess you all want to see these witches, so without furth ado, here they are....

So cute, right....This little deal totally gets two thumbs up! and a reccomendation for all of you that can go next year, you wont be sad you did....

Today was my girls' first experience with using an outhouse...Chase was super brave and went first...She came out waving her hand in front of her nose and said "CRAP-OLA it stinks in there!..."

Then Skylar entered....She litterally tip-toed to the toilet with a terrified look on her face...(Keep in mind she is finatical about dirty toilets, dirty panties, etc...) So she got up on the potty and I stepped out to make sure Chase made it into the car. When I opened the door, she had her eyes tightly shut and was saying to herself, "Don't look down, don't look down, don't look down!"......

Chase was sitting on the floor playing, and watching cartoons, while I was on the computer...A song came over the t.v. that I knew the words to so I started singing, maybe a little loud, maybe a little exaggerated, and Chase whipped around and goes "Mom, stop"...shook her head a couple times, let out a deep sigh and said "really, don't do that again"......

The other night we were getting ready to head over to my sisters for family dinner....Prior to that, after church, I took off my skirt and slipped on a pair of flannel pajama pants, leaving the brown sweater I had on on top....Well, as we were heading out the door, Chase looked at me and said "Mom, is that what your wearing?" I said yes, and she got his totally disgusted look on her face and goes "Seriously?".......

Skylar and I were sitting on the couch watching Disney channel and a man dressed as a mime came on...She asked me why he was dressed like that and I told her it was because he was a mime...She said "What's a mime?" "It a person that doesn't use words to speak, they just talk with their hands" I replied...She then asked, "Oh, like sign language?" and I said "No, its not really sign language...but actions that tell a story..." So then my SIX year old says..."Oh, you mean they use hand guestures and facial expressions? Why didn't you just say that!" Uhhhh.....

Grandma Cathy's Family camp-out was this weekend, and Roger came over to ask me if they could take my girls....So I asked Chase "Do you want to go the Bear Lake with Grandma and Grandpa?" and she said "No..." I asked "How come?" and she said "I dont want to go to a lake with a Bear in it!"

My girls' new favorite thing to play is "The Nerd Game"...where Chase is the popular girl and Skylar is the Nerd. Chase approaches Skylar, wearing a pair of my high heels, and with total attitude says "Hey Nerd, do you want to go to the movies with the popular girls..." and Skylar says "No thanks, I have homework..."

Seriously, where do they learn this?!

I was upstairs in my room last night and Mike came upstairs just laughing...He said Chase was downstairs in the bathroom with the door shut, and yelling " Someone come get me some toilet paper!" He went in to find a full roll of toilet paper on the holder, and Chase sitting on the toilet, elbows on her knees, eating a piece of pizza!...obviously to busy to get her own toilet paper!

The other night Chase and I were laying in bed and she was not going to sleep, so I was asking questions like: "What your address, what's your phone number....That sort of thing. Then I asked her "What dads full name?" "Mike Thompson" she said...Then I asked "What's moms full name" and she paused thinking for a second and said "Mumsy...Mumsy Nelson!" Not sure where that came from, but it was super funny!

So I teach the 8-9 year old kids in Primary, and today part of the lesson was about forgiveness...It suggested that you do the object lesson where someone has a backpack on and when someone hurts a persons feelings, you put a rock in it...So I was going around the room having the kids tell me something that would put a rock in someone's backpack...The first little girl said "You gossip about someone." The next boy said "You kick them in the stomach!" Then the third little girl said "You shoot their goat!....with a BB gun!" I died laughing!

The power went off at our house this afternoon, so it was dark and boring....Chase was grumpy, so I took her up to lay down. Mike and Skylar were downstairs wrestling and giggling, and due to the power outage, our smoke detectors kept beeping off and on...After a minute of trying to get Chase to sleep, she rolled over and said "Mom I cant go to sleep!" I said "How come" and she said "cause dad and Skylar are being to loud, and someone keeps coming up here and blowing that whistle!" (No whistle, just smoke detectors...ha ha ha, so funny!)

Today Chase and I were watching television and a commercial came on about Mother's Day...She said "Mom, is mother's day really on Sunday?" I said "Yes, are you gonna buy me a present?" She answered "Yes" and I said "What are you going to get me?" Her answer (the cutest thing ever) was "My Heart!"

We were having some lunch today, and I looked over just as Skylar was about to pour water in her lunch...I said"Don't pour your water in that." Her response was "I wasn't, I was just holding my cup like that so it was easier to get to my mouth when I'm ready for a drink..." I said "Skylar I think you lie to me a little" and Chase says "Mom, I lie to you ALOT!"
